Sustainability Science meets Development Studies: How can synergies between both research programmes be strengthened?
The International Centre for Sustainable Development (IZNE), together with the European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes (EADI), is organising a workshop on Friday, 21 February at the Sustainability Science Summit 2025 of the German Committee for Sustainability Research in Berlin on the topic of "Sustainability Science meets Development Studies: How can synergies between both research programmes be strengthened?"

Engineers Without Borders Challenge: Students impress with concept for dry toilets in Sierra Leone
Students from the Department of Engineering and Communication (IWK) have achieved second place in this year's “Engineers without Borders Challenge” with their submission. 52 young engineering teams from eight universities across Germany took part in the challenge. This year's task was to design sanitary facilities for rural communities in Sierra Leone.

Tetiana Myska: With courage and discipline to a place at university in Germany
From a war or crisis zone to the lecture theatre: several refugees have taken this route and are now studying at H-BRS. One of them is Tetiana Myska from Ukraine. She learnt the basics for starting her studies in Germany in language courses specially designed for refugees. She was supported by the university's International Office.

Library: 2 more weekends with longer opening hours January / February 2025 (exam prep)
During exam preparation, the H-BRS library at the Sankt Augustin campus offers extended opening hours at the weekends. These additional two weekends were financed by the Department of Management Sciences.
