Preserving cultural heritage digitally - the DAAD Ta'ziz projects
At the kick-off meeting for the DAAD Ta'ziz projects at the TH Brandenburg, the Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS), University of Applied Sciences, was represented by Prof. Dr. Rainer Herpers (Department of Computer Science), Sophie Reckers and Simon Biwer, both from the Business Information Systems degree programme in the Department of Computer Science.

Der Campusgarten der Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg wurde vom Förderverein für den Artenschutz, Umweltschutz und Naturschutz (FAUNA) mit einem Umweltpreis für Sankt Augustin 2022 ausgezeichnet.

Erstes Netzwerktreffen Prävention und Employability
Seit sechs Jahren bietet die Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS) gemeinsam mit dem Institut für Arbeit und Gesundheit der DGUV (IAG) und der Verwaltungs-Berufsgenossenschaft (VBG) das Weiterbildungsstudium „Prävention und Employability“ an. Inzwischen haben über 120 Alumni das Zertifikat erfolgreich erworben.

The 8th specialist conference "Data Saturday-Rheinland 2023" was a great success. Together with PASS Deutschland e. V. UG Rheinland, Prof. Dr Harm Knolle ( Department of Computer Science) organised a programme for experts in the field of data platforms from various manufacturers.

BRS Motorsport again presents new teaching methods at IEEE EDUCON
At this year's IEEE EDUCON in May, three members of the BRS Motorsport team in Salmiya, Kuwait presented another teaching method that takes extra-curricular engagement as a starting point for new curricular elements. As in the past, the contribution emerged from activities of the Race Academy around Prof. Dr. Dirk Reith, the team's Faculty Advisor.

High voter turnout in student committee elections
The student bodies at the university have been newly elected. All student councils as well as the student parliament (StuPa) have been constituted and have now begun their work. The election organisers are particularly pleased that the highest voter turnout of the past ten years was achieved with 13.31 percent.

Consequences following an incident of discrimination at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg
Following the allegations of discrimination against a professor at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, the university management has decided, after examining the facts and discussing the matter with those involved, to investigate the matter within the framework of a formal procedure. It is currently considering legal action. However, in the interest of all parties involved, the university cannot and must not provide any further information on ongoing proceedings.

Doctorate with distinction for Dominik Wilde
On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, TREE scholar Dominik Wilde successfully defended his dissertation titled "High-Order Lattice Boltzmann Methods for Simulation of Compressible Flows" at the University of Siegen and was awarded the highest distinction (Summa cum Laude) for his doctoral degree.

GTN-Workshop: Technologie trifft Kunst & Kultur im MIREVI Lab
Am 12.06.23 fand der hochkarätige Workshop zum Thema "Technology in Art and Culture" im MIREVI Lab der Hochschule Düsseldorf statt. Das Event wurde vom Games Technology Network (GTN) organisiert, einer Kooperation der Hochschule Bonn-Rhein Sieg (IVC), Technischen Hochschule Köln (CGL, CGG, IREX), Rheinisch-Westfälischen Technischen Hochschule (RWTH) und der Hochschule Düsseldorf (MIREVI). Der Workshop diente dem Austausch und der Erörterung der fortschreitenden Integration von Technologie in Kunst und Kultur.
