Institute of Technology, Resource and Energy-efficient Engineering (TREE)

Time to recap - Fifth TREE Advisory Board Meeting

TREE Beiratstreffen 14.06.2023

Monday 19 June 2023

How can we increase our success rates of research proposals and cooperations with industry? How do we make unique selling points and research know-how more visible in the development of new sustainability technologies?

Yesterday (Wednesday, 14.06.2023), the management of the Institute for Technology, Resource Efficiency and Energy Efficiency (TREE) received valuable feedback and praise from the nine advisory boards from science, society and industry on these and many other topics of strategy development. However, the institute does not want to rest on its laurels. Instead, further innovation potentials are to be raised and the Institute is to be continuously developed. #Let's go!

The TREE advisory board was impressed by the successful development of the institute in the last year, but also looked at the entire 5-year period of the advisory board's term of office. It was recommended to analyse rejected third-party funding applications more closely and to emphasise the added value of interdisciplinary cooperation. In addition, it was suggested to increase industry cooperation by directly addressing companies and publishing successes. There was also a focus on promoting industrial doctorates and building a strong alumni network. To attract students, stories of women in former male domains should be made visible. The Institute will use the recommendations to strengthen its positioning and drive future action.

Many thanks to our advisory board members for 5 years of valuable cooperation!
