Prof. Dr Christoph Zacharias was elected Vice President for a period of two years at the State Delegates' Assembly of the Hochschullehrerbund (Association of University Teachers), regional association North Rhine-Westphalia, on 29 March 2025. On April 9, 2025, Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) welcomed a delegation from the Institute of Finance Management (IFM) in Tanzania to the Sankt Augustin campus. Security vulnerabilities discovered in WLAN access points from Extreme Networks
A team of IT security researchers from the Department of Computer Science at H-BRS has discovered several serious security vulnerabilities in AeroHive/Extreme Networks WLAN access points. The starting point was the analysis of used devices, whose firmware the team examined in detail. The researchers discovered a number of serious vulnerabilities - from authentication problems to complete system control by attackers.
