An MBA degree as an investment in your own career and as a gateway to unlimited opportunities - for example, your own start-up. To achieve this goal, there are several ways to finance the MBA programme Start-up Development and Impact Innovations.

Tuition fees

The MBA Start-up Development (MBA) and Impact Innovations is a fee-based continuing education programme. The tuition fees will amount to 3,900 euros per semester when the programme starts in the summer semester of 2025.

In addition to the tuition fees, a reduced semester fee is charged, which includes a social contribution from the Bonn student union and the student body fee (a mobility ticket is not included). The amount of the semester fee may vary slightly each semester. The current amount and its breakdown can be found on the Registrar's Office website Semester fee and charges.

The tuition fees and semester fees are charged per semester and do not include travel and living expenses. Students will be informed of the payment deadline at the start of their studies upon admission. Re-registration for the next programme semester is by payment within the applicable deadlines.

For the part-time five-semester programme starting in the summer semester of 2025, fees of 19,500 euros (plus semester fee) are to be expected. Alternatively, students have the option of shortening the duration of their studies to 4 semesters on the fast track programme. With this option, tuition fees amount to 15,600 euros (plus semester fees). Students who need more than the five semesters standard period of study to complete the MBA programme must pay the semester fee in each additional semester in order to maintain their student status. If the assignment period for the master's thesis is extended beyond the fourth semester, a month of grace applies.

FAST TRACK

You have the choice: study part-time for 5 semesters, or shorten it to 4 semesters and graduate faster - and also save the tuition fees for one semester.

1. Scholarships

Many foundations, organisations and higher education institutions provide scholarships and grants for MBA students who not only score points for their academic performance, but also provide evidence of a strong commitment to their own career. 2. Sponsorship by the employer

Many companies are in favour of their employees continuing their education. From financing tuition fees to additional days of leave, employers have many ways to support their employees on an MBA. The Start-up Development degree programme is also highly relevant to the topic of intrapreneurship, as it teaches the dynamic mindset of start-ups and provides employees with the skills they need to bring about change processes within existing companies and successfully introduce and implement innovations.

3. Equity capital

Savings are the classic way to finance your studies. If you have been planning to do an MBA for some time, you may have already saved a financial buffer for further education measures, e.g. through monthly savings instalments, Christmas bonuses or gifts of money at Christmas and on birthdays. In some cases, parents can also provide support.

4. Student loans

Credit institutions offer special loans for educational purposes, such as bank loans, financial and/or educational funds.

5. Deduct from tax

In certain cases, the tuition fees for the MBA programme are tax-deductible as anticipated income-related expenses in Germany, meaning that you can get up to 42 percent of your tuition fees back. Under certain conditions, the tuition fees for your first or second degree programme and the financial expenses associated with your studies (e.g. costs for literature and travel expenses) can be deducted from your income tax.
