Shape the future of game development

Interactive, innovative, visionary: the English-language Master's degree programme in Game Technologies (MGT for short) at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg offers you the ideal foundation to get started in the dynamic world of game development. With state-of-the-art tools, creative approaches and a focus on interdisciplinary research, we prepare you optimally for the challenges of the industry.

Our MGT offers a comprehensive, in-depth education in the fundamentals and practical skills required for the development of modern computer games and interactive applications. Students acquire knowledge that can be used, for example, to develop innovative rendering processes, user-friendly interfaces or pioneering solutions in areas such as user experience, computer vision and scientific visualisation.

Study with flexibility and practical relevance

A particular focus is placed on current trends and technologies that are pioneering in both research and practice. Topics such as extended reality (virtual and augmented reality), deep learning and artificial intelligence, interaction with robots, serious games, rendering and game engine optimisation as well as motion capturing and character animation take centre stage.

Innovative learning and industry relevance

The degree programme combines sound theory with practical learning methods:

  • Workshops and lectures by industry experts: Direct insight into current developments and challenges in the games industry.
  • Project project work over three semesters: Development of games or other complex systems that combine theory and practice.
  • Mobility window in the 3rd semester: Opportunity to gain international experience or focus on individual specialisations.
  • The MGT builds on the many years of expertise from the successful predecessor Master's degree programme in Visual Computing & Games Technology. Proven concepts and practical content have been further developed to offer you a modern, future-oriented education.

Our aim is to prepare students for the exciting and dynamic world of game technologies, with a clear focus on future technologies and creative problem solving.

Become part of an innovative study programme that will optimally qualify you for the challenges of the industry!
