Information for students in their first semester
On the Student Advice Centre's overview page, you will find information about the semester ticket and student ID card, the dates for the first semester student welcome events for the degree programmes, preparation courses and much more.
At the beginning of the new academic year, we warmly welcome the first semester students to our higher education institution on Monday, 30 September 2024 at the Sankt Augustin campus. During and after the Central Freshers' Welcome Ceremony, the Market of Opportunities will take place in Hochschulstraße.
Successful completion of one or more language courses is mandatory for our bachelor's degree programmes. As this is usually an English course, a placement test in English must be taken at the start of the programme.
In the library, students will find an extensive and informative media collection, in digital or printed form. A dedicated team helps them to find information for their assignments and projects. The library also offers workshops and training courses on numerous topics
Email, SIS, LEA and WLAN
New students receive access to the central email server for students after self-registration via the MIA portal and are given their department code for registration in the student information system SIS and the e-learning system LEA
