The Finance Club Bonn-Rhein-Sieg is a student-organised, registered non-profit finance association founded in April 2021 by students of the H-BRS. The club is part of the nationwide umbrella organisation BVH (Bundesverband der Börsenvereine an deutschen Hochschulen - Federal Association of Stock Exchange Clubs at German Universities), which aims to make a contribution to society and actively shape the future of the finance industry.

In line with the objectives of the BVH, the Finance Club Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (FCBRS) offers students the opportunity to deepen the knowledge of financial management content acquired during their studies and to apply it practically in simulations and workshops. In addition, the club offers the opportunity to exchange ideas and network with professionals from the finance industry.
What the Finance Club offers its members

Members of the club have access to an extensive range of professional development opportunities and the chance to put the knowledge they have acquired into practice.

Membership in the FCBRS is not limited to students of the university, but is also open to all interested parties regardless of their prior knowledge. Every member receives free access to well-known business newspapers and magazines.

Supplementary subject "Stock Exchange Driving Licence"

Thanks to Professor Ralf Meyer, a "Stock Exchange Driving Licence" will be offered at the university as a supplementary subject from the summer semester of 2022. In a total of seven courses, the basics of topics such as the capital market, shares, funds, derivatives, crypto-assets and investment strategies will be presented in a clear and practical manner. Interactive exercises in individual and group work, as well as participation in a stock market game with a subsequent final presentation, provide variety.

Credit points can be earned by taking the subject and a certificate is issued after successful completion. The stock market licence was already carried out by BVH last year and was very well received by the participants. Due to the very positive response and the great interest, which greatly exceeded the limited number of participants, there is a good chance that the supplementary subject will be offered every semester in the future.

Lectures with well-known names from the finance industry

Since the founding of the Finance Club, several lectures on various topics have already been organised, which were very well received by the approximately 20 to 50 participants.
