How do I log in to the WLAN?

eduroam

With Education Roaming (eduroam), members of participating universities can access the Internet at the locations of all participating universities.

With eduroam, university members can NOT access the electronic services of the H-BRS library (e-books, databases, e-journals, etc.).

To log in to the WLAN eduroam the easyroam service is required. The easyroam service is provided by the German Research Network (DFN). The service allows the creation of WLAN profiles for end devices which have a validity of 6 months. After this time the profile has to be renewed.

I have lost my access data for LEA. Where can I get new ones?

If you have forgotten your LEA password, you can have a new one sent to you via the "Forgotten password" item on the MIA start page. To do this, it is important that you have already stored a private email address in MIA, as you will not be able to access your university email address. Otherwise, we recommend that you set a reset routine in MIA in advance. This way, you can quickly reset your password on your own if necessary.

How do I register for my exams?

To register for an exam, you must be logged in to SIS. There you can register for all available exams via the item "Exam registration". 

Please note that registration is only possible during certain periods. You will be informed of the respective registration periods by e-mail. A later deregistration is only possible up to 7 days before the exam.

How do I get my SIS password?

Please follow the instructions to request your password for SIS.

What do I do if I have forgotten my SIS password?

Wenn Sie Ihr Passwort vergessen haben, können Sie sich direkt im SIS ein neues Passwort an Ihre Studenten-Mailadresse schicken lassen.


Achten Sie beim Kopieren des Passworts aus der E-Mail bitte darauf, dass keine Leerzeichen mit kopiert werden.

Wenn im System bereits einige fehlerhafte Anmeldeversuche vermerkt sind, ist es möglich, dass Ihr Konto vorübergehend gesperrt ist. Ist dies der Fall, schreiben Sie bitte eine E-Mail an servicepoint@h-brs.de.

What is my email address and username for the initial login?

Bei der Immatrikulation erhalten alle Studierenden der Universität einen E-Mail-Zugang. Nach ca. vier Tagen sind Sie unter folgender Mailadresse zu erreichen: vorname.name@smail.fachbereichskürzel.h-brs.de. Sie können dann Ihre E-Mails über unseren Webclient Owa abrufen.

How do I get Office 365 Education?

Das Office 365 Education-Paket von Microsoft richtet sich an Studenten, Lehrer und Mitarbeiter der Universität. Es bietet u.a. Word, Excel, PowerPoint zur Installation auf privaten Geräten. Unter diesem Link finden Sie eine ausführliche Erklärung und Anleitung zur Installation.

How do I register for supplementary subjects?

To register for one or more supplemental subjects, you must register for the respective LEA course in your department. There you can also find the current registration time for the supplementary subjects. However, this will also be emailed to you again a few days before the start of the registration period with the associated link to the LEA course. Therefore, always keep an eye on your email.

When the registration period begins, you should hurry to register, as supplemental subjects sell out very quickly. Keep in mind that you can register for a maximum of three supplemental courses in one semester.

How do I change my password?

Windows

Log in to the PC successfully with your current password and press the key combination Ctrl-Alt-Del. Then select the "Change password" item. During this process you must first enter your old password and then enter a new password twice.

Owa

Log in to Owa with your email address and password. Then click on Options in the upper right corner and you will see the option "Change password...". This process requires you to first enter your old password and then enter a new password twice. Press "Save" and the next time you log in, use your new password.

Lea

If you visit the Lea website, you will see "Forgot your password?" at the bottom of the page, click on it and a new page will open. On this page you can enter your e-mail address and a link to create a new password will be sent to you by e-mail.
