How to loan media technology

If you are looking to produce a video or podcast in the context of teaching or offer your next course in a hybrid format but need the necessary equipment, you're in the right place! The videoLAB has assembled suitable technical equipment for both instructors and students, which is available on loan.

Information about the Lending Process

All faculty and students at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg have the opportunity to borrow professional equipment for use in the context of teaching. The technology has been carefully selected and provides a quick entry even for less tech-savvy individuals. The videoLAB manages the lending process and offers individual consultation and support as needed.

Library or University ID Required

As the media equipment is booked through the library, you will need a valid library or university ID card for the loan. Please note that currently, equipment pickup is only available in Sankt Augustin.

Reservation

If you are interested in a device or set, we kindly ask you to submit an inquiry to the videoLAB to check availability for your desired period.

Please send an email to videolab@h-brs.de. The videoLAB team will then make a reservation for the equipment on your behalf.

Pickup

The pickup process involves three steps:

Go to the service desk of the library (please check opening hours). The reserved set or device will be booked to your library account and you will receive a loan card.
Present the loan card at the videoLAB to exchange it for the desired equipment.
The videoLAB team will check the accessories with you to make sure they are complete. You then sign a handover protocol.

If you would like a personal briefing, please allow extra time for this and inform the videoLAB in advance.

Return

When you return the equipment to the videoLAB, you will receive the loan card back. Return it to the library service desk.

The loan period only ends when the loan card is returned.

Loan Period

The loan period is 5 days.

However, this does not apply to technology for hybrid teaching. The equipment can only be borrowed for the duration of a course.
