Language Centre
James Chamberlain says goodbye
The American gentleman James Chamberlain was always in a good mood and always had a sympathetic ear, and not just when it came to problems with the English language. Although he was a man of quiet tones, he was a formative element of the university, also in his time as Head of the Language Centre. He is now retiring at the end of October.
The mediator between cultures came to Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg on 1 April 1998, and the Language Centre was founded shortly afterwards by a decision of the Rectorate. Chamberlain helped set up the centre and supported it from the very beginning.
31 October 2023 will officially be his last day with us, although he will continue to be available to the Language Centre and the university as a lecturer. We would like to thank a great guy for his excellent work and wish him all the best for the future!
