A research professorship provides professors with more time (between six and nine semester hours per week) to devote to scientific research by reducing the number of teaching appointments. A research professorship can be awarded upon application if the professor has proven himself/herself in research in a special way.
A research professorship serves in particular
- to strengthen and sharpen the research profile of Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg
- to intensify research activities and increase the volume of third-party funding
- to appreciate professors who are active in research
- to motivate other professors to open up further fields of research and to implement new research ideas
