University and District Library
OBRS - from booking to finished video
Requirements for using the OBRS
You can use the OBRS if you are employed or studying at our university. To gain access to the studio, you will need your library card. It is also necessary for you to complete our online learning module with a short final test. This contains basic knowledge that will help you using the studio. You can complete the learning module via our learning platform LEA (login required). It is only available in german. If you need any assistance please contact the videoLAB team.
Room booking of the OBRS
To ensure that the studio is free for you, it is best to book it online in advance via our room booking tool. This way is possible up to one hour before use. Alternatively, please ask at the counter in the library. In Sankt Augustin, the studio is usually available from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
Your studio recordings
You can start the studio recordings via our iPad. There are various scenes to choose from, which you can set at the beginning and change at a later time. Depending on your needs, you can have your own presentation or other content shown in the background. Our studio tablet is available for this purpose, alternatively you can connect your own device via the HDMI cable provided. If you would like to import your own presentation, please ensure that it is in the correct format. (You can find more information on this in our FAQ).
The user area: accessing video recordings and uploading backgrounds
After a recording, you can watch the clip for control via the iPad in the studio. The recordings are then stored for 30 days in the User Area and can be conveniently downloaded there. It is important that you log in via a device from the university network for the download. You can also upload and manage your own backgrounds in advance via the User Area. To do this, you must first log in with your library number and the MIA password.
