OBRS - FAQ

On this page you will find frequently asked questions (FAQ) about OBRS.

How to use the OBRS?

In order to use the OBRS, the following criteria must be met:

  • You have a valid library card.
  • You have successfully completed the learning module and the OBRS test with an "LEA badge" and have an "OBRS licence".
  • You have already booked the OBRS for your desired date or it is still available.

Do I need a licence authorisation for the OBRS? What is the OBRS licence?

To ensure that you are well prepared to use the OBRS, obtaining the OBRS licence is a requirement for booking the OBRS. You can easily acquire the OBRS licence in our digital learning module.

For library patrons who want to use the OBRS, we're happy to set up access for you to complete the learning module. Simply reach out to us via email at videolab@h-brs.de, and we'll be happy to assist you in setting up your access.

How to book the OBRS?

You can easily book the OBRS via the library's room booking system up to 4 weeks in advance. The prerequisite for using the OBRS is to obtain the OBRS licence.

For booking the OBRS in Rheinbach, please inquire directly at the counter; online booking is not yet available.

What do I need to bring to my recording?

You can bring your own laptop or tablet if you want to use it as a source (e.g. for presentations) in the video. Your chosen device requires an HDMI connection or corresponding adapter. However, you can also use the Surface PC (with internet access) on site as a player. You may then only need your desired material on a USB storage medium.

For the use of the document camera, you will of course need corresponding documents or demonstration objects.

If you want to conduct an interview or record a lecture, you do not need any additional equipment.

What software is installed on the PC on site?

The PC on site is a Microsoft Surface Pro and is run by Windows. Installed programmes are the MS Office package, various browsers, Adobe Acrobat Reader and the VLC player. If you need special software, please feel free to contact us.
