Neues Hinweisgebersystem für Rechtsverstöße
Die Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS) hat ein Hinweisgebersystem eingeführt, in dem intern beobachtete Rechtsverstöße vertraulich gemeldet werden können. Damit setzt sie Vorgaben des Hinweisgeberschutzgesetzes (HinSchG) um.

Based on the way the brain works, Abdelrahman's research (at H-BRS in the Master's degree programme in Autonomous Systems) is looking for an approach that aims to improve the learning ability and adaptability of robots by enabling them to move safely in unstructured environments.

Ahmad Drak: The high-flyer
Ahmad Drak is the "drone guy". Having studied both electrical engineering and autonomous systems, he can not only design and construct the flying robots, but also programme them for autonomous missions. In the "Garrulus" project, he is currently working on reforesting destroyed forest areas with the help of modern technology. His motivation: to make a real difference through research work. The fact that he is now pursuing this dream at H-BRS, also has to do with one of his former cars.

H-BRS will Forschung auf EU-Ebene voranbringen
Vertreter der Kooperationsstelle EU der Wissenschaftsorganisationen (KoWi) sind am Dienstag, 23. Januar, an der H-BRS zu Gast gewesen, um die Hochschulleitung zur Forschungsförderung der Europäischen Union zu beraten. Mit dem Strategiegespräch bekräftigt die Hochschule ihr Bestreben, Forschung und Partnerschaften auf europäischer Ebene auszubauen.

Open Project Day and Study Information Day January 2024 (Gallery)
Bei den Studieninformationstagen im Januar 2024 informierte die Hochschule über die Inhalte und Perspektiven ihrer 21 Bachelorstudiengänge. Neben individuellen Beratungsangeboten, Schnuppervorlesungen und Vorträgen waren auch die Labore geöffnet und luden Besucherinnen und Besucher zum Ausprobieren ein. Integriert in das Programm war der „Tag des Offenen Projektes“, bei dem Studierende des Fachbereichs Ingenieurwissenschaften und Kommunikation zeigten, wie sie wissenschaftliche Lerninhalte in praktischen und lebensnahen Projekten umsetzen.

In October 2023, a four-member delegation from the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) undertook a week-long visit to the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim and Ålesund.

Researcher from Ukraine visits the H-BRS
Professor Mariia Dorosh from the Ukrainian H-BRS partner university Chernihiv Polytechnic National University was a guest at the university for a month. Together with computer science professor Petra Haferkorn, she worked on a study on information security during this time. A surprise for the researcher was how the german public reacts to the war in ukraine.

Cafeteria on Rheinbach Campus reopened
On Monday, January 29, 2024, the cafeteria on the Rheinbach campus will reopen. This means that there will once again be a stationary food service on campus. Since January 8, students and employees of the university have also been able to use the foyer in the C building to eat, work and linger. Around 80 seats are available here.
