H-BRS is committed to the compatibility of studies, career, science and family. Successfully certified six times since 2007, we have been able to implement a variety of measures and projects to create better support services for family-friendly study and working conditions at the university. For us, family includes single-parent families, same-sex and mixed-sex couples, patchwork families, families with disabled (foster) children and those with relatives in need of care - we are there to support all of them.

Quality assurance

In December 2022, Bonn-Rhein Sieg University of Applied Sciences was awarded the "audit familiengerechte hochschule" (family-friendly university audit) for the 6th time and thus receives the right to continue to use the certificate, which is protected throughout Europe.

Wegweiser Help

Breastfeeding, changing and rest rooms

At the Sankt Augustin campus, breastfeeding, diaper-changing and rest rooms are available to all university parents for the care of their child. These rooms, which are open throughout the day, are located in G 106 and B 291. You can obtain the key for the third baby changing facility, room C 009, at the reception desk. A baby changing room will soon be available again in Rheinbach.

KidsBox

For employees with childcare shortages, mobile children's rooms (KidsBoxes) are available for loan in rooms B 291 and G 106, at the Sankt Augustin campus. These can be rolled into other offices as needed. The keys to the KidsBoxes are available at the reception desk, where the borrowing time is entered in a list.

Children playground

A children's playground is available on the university grounds especially for children of students and employees of the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences.

Parent-child parking

Parent-child parking spaces are available at the Sankt Augustin and Rheinbach campuses for employees and students whose children are no more than two years old. They have an extra width that makes it easier to lift out and put in a baby or small child.

A parking permit is required for use, which you can obtain at the offices of the Equal Opportunity Office in Sanktaugustin (Room C005.1) and Rheinbach (Room H004).

High chairs

The university provides high chairs for children in the dining halls at the Rheinbach and Sankt Augustin campuses.

Students and employees of the university have the opportunity to apply for a company daycare center. These are each located in the daycare center of the Studierendenwerk Bonn at the Sankt Augustin and Rheinbach campuses.

Welcome package for newborns

The Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences welcomes every newborn child of students and employees with a welcome package.

HELP advice center

At the Counseling Center - HELP, students and employees have the opportunity to have confidential conversations about questions and problems regarding the compatibility of study/work and family.
Opening hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Wednesday: from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
