Equal Opportunity
No tolerance for violence at H-BRS
At H-BRS, we want to
- Promote trusting cooperation among university members and maintain a good working and study climate.
- Respecting university members in their particular life situations, e.g. supporting them in their family obligations
- Understanding conflicts as an opportunity for further development and solving them constructively
- avoid escalation of conflicts
- not tolerate intolerance and violence of any kind
The university is committed to an image of humanity that is based on fairness, respect and peaceful conflict resolution. Fair forms of conflict resolution are open, serious, responsible, appreciative disputes that engage with the other parties involved. Intolerance, ignorance, contempt and disrespect in mutual interaction are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Disrespectful, assaultive and/or defamatory behavior - especially towards women - has no place at the university. It is the responsibility of all university employees, especially those in management and leadership positions, to ensure that critical and especially violent behavior is reported, reflected and not tolerated.
Violence takes many forms and, unfortunately, we encounter it again and again in both analog and digital spaces.
The following figure provides an overview of various forms of violence that we try to counteract at the university through education.
