SKILLS: Steigerung der Kompetenzorientierung im digitalen Lehren und Lernen (Increasing competence orientation in digital teaching and learning)

The digitalization of the workplace and the learning environment creates new demands on students and lecturers. The "SKILLS"-project addresses two areas:

1. Development and promotion of "Future Skills" for study and work through peer trainings.

2. Promotion of competence-oriented digital testing (e-assessment).

DAViD@h-brs.nrw

The Project "DAViD@h-brs.nrw (Daten Analysieren, Visualisieren und Deuten)" (Analysing, Visualising and Interpreting Data) pursues the teaching of digital and data skills for students of all bachelor programmes at H-BRS.

FPGA Vision Remote Lab

Learn about image processing with an FPGA. Video lectures explain algorithm and implementation of lane detection for automotive driving. Real hardware is available as a remote lab.

E-val

The project "E-val" deals with digitalization in teaching and learning with the aim of reviewing and optimizing current evaluation procedures and processes.

Projekt NEIS - Nachhaltige Ernährung im Studienalltag (Sustainable nutrition in the daily study routine)

"NEIS" is a project to teach students the connection between their eating habits and sustainability and to support a change towards sustainable and low-waste eating and shopping behaviour.

KOAB

Since 2012, H-BRS has been participating in the cooperation project of "KOAB" for graduate students. KOAB is a nationwide research project of ISTAT (Institut für angewandte Statistik).

Campusgarten (Campus Garden)

Our "Campusgarten", located in Sankt Augustin, is a place of silence, relaxation and shared gardening. The garden was opened in the summer semester 2021 and is part of the project "NEIS".

The projects "HD@DH.nrw: Hochschuldidaktik im digitalen Zeitalter" (Higher education didactics in the digital age) aims to increase the digital competence of lecturers at universities in North-Rhine-Westphalia.

AR/VR.nrw

The project "AR/VR.nrw" combines and integrates the key technologies, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), into teaching and research at universities in North-Rhine-Westphalia.

OER4EE

The project  "OER4EE – Technologien für die Energiewende" (Technologies for the energy transition) is developing digital teaching and learning materials for the topic renewable energy. It is led by the TH Köln, and also involves FH Aachen, RWTH Aachen, Ruhr-Universität-Bochum, HS Düsseldorf and H-BRS.

Pro-MINT-us

"Pro-MINT-us" was a project from the Qualitätspakt Lehre. In the period from 2012 to 2016 and 2017 to 2020, the funding included a capacity-neutral improvement of teaching, in particular through:

• "Schreibwerkstatt"
