Staff Mobility

Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg supports all staff members who are interested in a stay abroad for teaching, research or training purposes.

Funding via the Erasmus+ programme and internal funds allocated to international staff mobility allow us to fund a variety of mobilities, ranging from several days to a semester abroad.

Advantages of an Erasmus+ staff mobility:

  • Stay on the basis of a coordinated programme
  • Professional exchange and new perspectives
  • Strengthening own competences
  • Expansion and deepening of networks

Please find under "Links" the websites of the DAAD, various databases and advice services for further information on employee mobility and the promotion of researcher mobility and international research projects.

We also regularly welcome international academic and non-academic staff to our university for a stay within the framework of a guest lectureship, research project or training. The International Welcome Centre will be pleased to provide you with advice and assistance to make your stay on our campus as pleasant as possible for you.

Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching Purposes (STA):

The ERASMUS+ mobility program offers financial support to lecturers for a stay with teaching purposes at one of the partner universities in the Erasmus+ program. Staff mobility must take place in a Programme Country which is not the country of the sending institution (except for incoming mobility) and not the main country of residence of the person concerned. According to DAAD guidelines, teaching stays may generally last between two days and two months (excluding travel time), but the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences only funds 5 days (see "Financial framework conditions STA"). The teaching load per stay is eight hours for the first week of the stay or a shorter stay. For each additional day of stay, the minimum number of hours is calculated proportionally. A combination of teaching (STA) and continuing education (STT) is also possible, in which case the teaching load is reduced to 4 hours per week (for further combination please contact Birgit Henn). Guest lecturers ought to strengthen the European dimension of the host university through their stay, complement its teaching offer and impart their expertise to students who do not want to or cannot study abroad.

If possible, the development of joint study programs of the partner universities as well as the exchange of teaching content and methods should be considered.

The following group of persons can be sponsored at the H-BRS:

  • Professors and lecturers with a contractual relationship to the university
  • Teaching staff with special tasks
  • Research assistants
  • Company staff (incoming)
