Intensive German C1 preparatory course
The course concludes with either the digital TestDaF or the telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule exam. If you pass the digital TestDaF (at least TDN 4 in all sections) or the telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule exam, you fulfil the language admission requirements for all German-language degree programmes at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg. In order to be admitted to the German C1 course, you must provide proof of German language proficiency at the completed B2 level with an official B2 certificate.
The German B2+ refresher course in February 2025:
If you would like to deepen your B2 skills, you can take part in a B2+ refresher course in February. The International Office offers 24 lessons per week in Sankt Augustin for prospective students, both with and without a refugee background, provided that places are available. Intensive German C1 preparatory course in the summer semester 2025:
Course duration: 31 March 2025 - 18 July 2025 (24 teaching hours per week)
Kick-off meeting: Friday, 10 March 2025, 10:00 - 15:00
Course location: Four weekdays in-person in Sankt Augustin, and one weekday online.
Fees: The course and exam are free of charge. Participants with student status only pay the semester fee of 315.10 euros.
Admission requirements:
- Qualification for the desired degree programme at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg
- B2 German certificate: TestDaF min. 3/3/3/3, telc Deutsch B2, Goethe-Zertifikat B2, ÖSD B2 or UNIcert II. Grade reports from private language schools or universities for the B2 level are not accepted.
Course content:
- Repetition of basic grammar structures and teaching of scientific language structures
- Deepening and expanding vocabulary with a focus on topics relevant to your studies
- Training the skills of listening comprehension, reading comprehension, written and oral expression
- Format training for the telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule and Digitaler TestDaF
- Exams
Final exam:
- Digital TestDaF at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg on 7 August 2025 or
- telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule (date to be announced)
Application deadlines:
Summer semester: 15 November - 31 January or until all places are filled.
Winter semester: 15 May - 31 July or until all places are filled.
If the number of registrations exceeds the number of places in the course, further registrations may be rejected before the end of the registration period. There is no legal entitlement to a place on the course.
