Intensive German C1 preparatory course - requirements and application procedure
Prerequisites
- Higher education entrance qualification for the degree programme you wish to pursue at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences
- German B2 language certificate: TestDaF min. 3/3/3/3, telc Deutsch B2, DSH 1, Goethe-Zertifikat B2, ÖSD B2 or UNIcert II). B2 grade reports from language schools or universities are not accepted.
- Early application (15 November - 31 January for the summer semester, 15 May - 31 July for the winter semester). Places on the course are limited. These places are allocated in the order in which applications are received. The date on which the documents are submitted in full counts as the date of registration. There is no legal entitlement to a place on the course.
- Regular attendance: Please only register for the course if you can guarantee regular attendance. As the course is free of charge, 80% attendance is compulsory. Participants who are absent for more than 20% will be excluded from further lessons as well as the final exam. The reasons for absence (illness, religious holidays, appointments with authorities, personal matters) are of no relevance.

Exam for higher education entrance qualification
Before you apply, you can check on the following page whether your secondary school leaving certificate qualifies you to study: Prerequisites (DAAD) and Database Anabin.
If you have obtained a school-leaving qualification in your home country that entitles you to study in your home country but is not recognised as a higher education entrance qualification (HZB) in Germany, you cannot take part in the preparatory intensive German C1 course, but would have to attend a preparatory college. You can find more information about this on the Website Studienkollegs in Deutschland.
