Results
The main goal of this project was to improve the reliability of a physical-mathematical simulation model for blow mouldered parts in order to reduce the number of prototypes. This would lead to many advantages, which would stronly improve the competitive ability of the cooperation partners:
-
Mass reduction of blow mouldered parts.
In case the simulation leads to quantitative results concerning the mechanical properties of the product, the parts coud be improved in terms of weight. -
Reducing the production time.
The production of prototype tools often takes several weeks; this time period could be saved or even be used for optimisation steps -
Ensuring the "optimal" design even for the first tool.
When implementing the first prototype further changes can lead to high costs. Improving the tool properties is then only possible by increasing the tool weight. -
Qualification of personell for the blow moulding industry.
Students and scientific Personell is offered pratice-orientated training in close cooperation with our project partners -
Developer´s Network.
A network is created to connect everyone, from the producer of the raw material to the producer of the blow mouldered parts. -
Quick transfer of research results.
Active participation of all project partners leads to direct transfer of the results. This goes in hand with the implementation of a project accompanying committee.
