Curriculum vitae

Professor Dr Hartmut Ihne studied philosophy, political science, German language and literature, education and electrical engineering in Bonn, Bern, Neuchâtel, Siegen and Oxford. He has been teaching ethics, political philosophy, development policy and political counselling at various universities since 1986.
From 1987 to 1994, Ihne worked as office manager and advisor on international cooperation for the Chairman of the Committee on Economic Cooperation in the German Bundestag. From 1994 to 1996 he was project manager of a minority rights project of the Swiss National Science Foundation at the University of Bern, from 1996 to 2004 managing director of the Centres for Development Research (ZEF) and European Integration Research (ZEI) at the University of Bonn under the umbrella of the Bonn International Science Forum, and until 2008 director of ZEFConsult at the Centre for Development Research at the University of Bonn. He has been President of Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg since November 2008.
Hartmut Ihne is a member of national and international committees in science, business, politics and society. He has published widely on global governance and political consulting, development policy, religion and globalisation, information and communication technologies and issues of legal philosophy and ethics.
