Together with students and two robots, the Institute for AI and Autonomous Systems (A2S) at H-BRS presented its activities and innovations at the European Robotics Forum 2025 (ERF 2025).

Stuttgart, 25.3.-27.3.2025 - The ERF is an annual flagship event organised by euRobotics aisbl. It enables stakeholders from science, industry and politics to exchange views on current developments in robotics, promising future directions in this field and challenges in the development and use of robots in a variety of applications.

The event was held in Germany for the first time, and our A2S Institute had the privilege of presenting its work with its own exhibition stand.

Two of our robots were presented at the Institute's stand: Jessie (developed by KELO Robotics GmbH) and LuxAI QTrobot. Both robots entertained visitors with their capabilities. QTrobot was used to present learning activities developed as part of the MigrAVE project. With Jessie, various bimanual manipulation skills were demonstrated, as well as the combination of robot foundation models for skill execution and vision-language models for precondition checking.

These demos provided a deep insight into the versatility of the A2S Institute's past and ongoing research projects and led to numerous interesting discussions with the forum visitors.

Many members of the team presented the A2S Institute's research topics at the event (from left to right in the photo): Natalia Quiroga Perez, Prof. Sebastian Houben, Prof. Javad Ghofrani, Youssef Mahmoud Youssef, Prof. Teena Hassan, Dr. Alex Mitrevski, and (not in the photo) Michał Stolarz.

The forum provided an excellent opportunity for some of our students to discover current developments in robotics and find inspiration for their own work. Some of them gathered for a photo (from left to right): Nigitha Selvaraj, Anudeep Sai Sajja, Karthik Sundararaj, and Kamendu Panchal.

In addition to our students, it was also a pleasure for us to meet many alumni of our Master's degree programme in Autonomous Systems, who are now successfully working in science and industry.

We are very grateful that we were able to present our A2S Institute at the Forum and would like to thank the many visitors who visited our stand and had interesting discussions with us. We hope to see you again next year at the ERF in Stavanger, Norway.
