Sixteen students from the Department of Computer Science at H-BRS took part in the DOAG 2024 conference (Deutsche ORACLE-Anwendergruppe e. The event offered participants an excellent opportunity to familiarise themselves with current developments in Oracle technology and gain valuable insights into the practical side of the business.

As part of the NextGen programme specially designed for students, participants were able to benefit from numerous specialist presentations, workshops and networking opportunities. This programme enabled students to interact directly with experts from the IT industry and offered valuable insights into the latest trends and technologies.

In addition to the presentations, the students had the opportunity to take part in practical workshops in which they were able to deepen their knowledge and make valuable contacts with companies. Taking part in the conference was a valuable experience that gave the students new impetus for their academic and professional careers.

The DOAG Annual Conference and Exhibition is one of the most important events for the German-speaking Oracle community. Organised by the German Oracle User Group (DOAG), this annual conference provides a platform for professionals, developers, database and IT experts and decision-makers to exchange information on current developments, best practices and trends in the Oracle environment. The event combines practical presentations, workshops and discussion panels on topics such as databases, cloud technologies, application development and Oracle tools. The event is accompanied by an exhibition where Oracle partners, service providers and technology providers present their products and solutions. This year, around 1500 participants will benefit from networking opportunities, in-depth knowledge transfer and the chance to exchange ideas with experts from the industry.

The university would like to thank DOAG and the organisers of the NextGen programme for the opportunity to provide students with such an enriching experience and looks forward to future participation.
