New textbook on digital consumption has been published

The Institute for Digital Consumption at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) has published the first textbook on digital consumption (consumer informatics). The work ‘Verbraucherinformatik - Grundlagen und Anwedungsfelder der digitalen Konsumgesellschaft’ has been published by Springer Verlag and is available under an open access licence (CC-BY 4.0 International) for free use.

The textbook offers a comprehensive overview of the digital consumer landscape and conveys central basic concepts and topics of digital consumption using practical examples. Among other things, it deals with the digitalisation of households and markets, as well as issues of digital consumer protection, sustainability, as well as fairness and responsibility in the design of digital technologies.
