Project Description
Sustainable educational institutions
The creation and improvement of educational opportunities is essential for the sustainable development of a region. The implementation requires the cooperation of academic as well as non-academic educational institutions.
A four-day symposium on this topic was held in October 2021 as a platform for dialogue in Sardinia, a hotspot of biological diversity. Prof. Dr. Wiltrud Terlau from the International Center for Sustainable Development (IZNE) of the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) is organizing it together with the University of Sassari (UNISS) and other partners.
Sustainability on the Coastal Region of Sardinia - An Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Dialogue-Platform on the Italian Island of Sardinia
Both partners participated with scientists and experts from the University of Bonn, BIO-Diverse, Global Nature Fund (GNF), Istituto Sardo di Scienze, Lettere e Arti (ISSLA), Sardinian Regional Agency for Rural Development (LAORE) and Sardinian Environmental Protection Agency (ARPAS), as well as students from various disciplines. The symposium itself consisted of lectures, workshops, field trips and public events with a wide variety of stakeholders on the topics of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Green Economy, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, and Nature and Climate Protection, with a focus on coastal regions as well as rural regions of Sardinia.
