International Centre for Sustainable Development (IZNE)
IZNE is a member of the international WAITRO network
Under the patronage of the United Nations, the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organizations (WAITRO) was founded as an independent, non-governmental and non-profit association in 1970. It brings together stakeholders from the fields of science, technology and innovation, including research and technology organisations and research universities, at the international level to enable members and partners to network and form partnerships.
„"It is a special concern of ours to cooperate internationally with companies that are working worldwide to develop innovative solutions for the way out of the climate crisis. This includes, for example, the development of power-to-X plants, but also the development of new materials and components for the energy and mobility sectors."”
Prof. Dr. Stefanie Meilinger, IZNE
Together for sustainable development
To solve global challenges and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we can share, inspire and multiply contributions. The influence of research should be increased in this context in order to unite technology and innovation. In concrete terms, this means jointly facilitating and supporting relevant projects, workshops and other activities. In the network, more than 50,000 researchers in 51 member countries are working to achieve this goal.
The vision
To achieve sustainable impacts on societies and economies, a global innovation ecosystem, with research and technology organisations (including universities) working together. Knowledge is shared and innovative technologies are developed and disseminated in partnership with the private and public sectors.
„"We would be pleased to support this development work with our expertise in life cycle and sustainability analysis. We hope to establish contacts with foreign practice partners, especially in the field of sustainable technologies."”
Prof. Dr. Stefanie Meilinger, IZNE
