CitizenLab: Life cycle assessment
The LCA laboratory at H-BRS offers accompanying research for industrial research and development projects in the field of life cycle analysis in order to support companies in the sustainability assessment of new processes and products. Using modern life cycle assessment software and with the help of our own modeling and simulation, we support you in identifying relevant environmental impacts and are also happy to participate in this role as a partner in publicly funded research projects.
In addition, the International Center for Sustainable Development (IZNE) offers life cycle assessment workshops for schools. Here, pupils learn about the idea of life cycle analysis and environmental assessment using the example of everyday products and learn about the climate impact of everyday objects.

Life cycle assessment (LCA) involves recording and evaluating the environmental impact of a product, service, process or company. Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) also offers its LCA expertise to external stakeholders from business, science and politics as part of joint research projects or contract research.
Sustainable technology development seeks technical solutions from the energy and mobility sector in order to improve people's living conditions in line with the UN SDGs without negative environmental or social consequences. At the same time, it must be ensured that technical solutions also work when the environment and society change.
