The Department Council of the Department of Engineering and Communication (DEC).

Tasks of the Department Council

The Department Council is the highest decision-making body of the Department of DEC and is responsible for all matters relating to the Department, unless another responsibility is expressly defined. Meetings of the Department Council are generally open to the public. An exception to this are agenda items relating to personnel decisions.

Composition of the Department Council

Members of all four status groups of the HBRS are represented on the Department Council: Professors, academic staff, technical and administrative staff and students.
The term of office for members of the Department Council is two years; the student representatives are elected for one year at a time. The Chairperson of the Department Council is elected from the group of Department Council members. The Department Council consists of eleven voting members as well as the Dean and Vice Dean as non-voting members.
