Business Information Systems (BSc)
Programme content
The Bachelor's degree programme in Business Information Systems (BSc) teaches knowledge from both business administration and computer science. Marketing and controlling are just as much a part of the curriculum as analysis and programming. In addition to practical expertise, students acquire interdisciplinary skills in law and English, as well as soft skills such as presentation techniques and time management.
In the third semester, students have the opportunity to choose specialisations from the fields of business application systems, business intelligence and IT controlling. In the second study phase, students choose one of six specialisations according to their interests: Data Science, Cyber-Physical Systems, Integrated Information and Communication Systems, IT Controlling, Complex Software Systems or Visual Computing. The degree programme is rounded off with an integrated practical project and the final thesis.
Practical relevance
Business IT specialists are characterised by their holistic, analytical thinking and strong communication skills. They analyse problems, plan optimisation options and present their results to an audience from all areas of a company: controlling, sales and marketing as well as project management or production.
