With the game.impulse lecture series, the Master in Visual Computing and Games Technology programme has initiated a series of short impulse lectures by experts from industry and academia on selected topics in game design and development. They are part of the series: "Visual Computing - Colloquium".
These lectures are aimed at students of the Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, University of Applied Sciences, as well as interested parties from other universities. They illustrate the focus and expertise of the team of lecturers in the field of virtual reality by specifically looking at VR games.
Seithe is an independent game developer living in Sankt Augustin, Germany. With a PhD in economics and professional experience in computer science, he has been developing indie games in his spare time for the last ~10 years until he became a full-time indie game developer in 2020.
Dr Mirko Seithe will share his experiences from many years of running a successful indie game studio as well as helpful advice on founding your own company or start-up.
What are the advantages of building a company as a part-time job? What are the advantages and disadvantages of working in a team as opposed to working alone, and how do you find your place in the market? In his lecture, Seithe will illustrate the experiences he has made, the lessons he has learned and the importance of maintaining mental and physical health in order to ensure long-term success and well-being.
You are cordially invited!
