Year of Sustainability

Bibliothek Aktionsjahr Nachhaltigkeit
17 goals - your future! Sustainability concerns every one of us - and we can all be part of the change. The 17 global sustainability goals set by the United Nations show the path to a more just and more sustainable future.
Small activities, big impact - all ideas count!

As part of the Year of Sustainability, we make ideas visible, tangible and, at best, encourage imitation. Every month, we focus on different goals: media exhibitions, events and hands-on activities will accompany you through the year.

Our schedule for the first half of 2025

  • Kick-off event - 1 April 2025, 17-19 h: panel discussion on "Sustainability perspectives in companies"

While 'Fair Play' is a staple of sportsmanship on the field, almost nobody thinks about how fairly jerseys and other sporting goods are produced. The Exhibition "Shirt Swap" shows the workers manufacturing our clothing and answers questions like: How are environmental destruction and human rights violations connected? What political and individual options for action are there?

  • Juni: Second hand to go - new life for used goods. Swapping everyday items  - sustainable and free of charge
Participating is quite easy: put everyday items you no longer need into the exchange shelves. You might also take something you'd like to take home with you. All items may be taken free of charge and be given a second life, thus preventing more garbage.
    What items are eligible?
Household/kitchen items, (board) games, small appliances, decorative items...
Rheinbach & Sankt Augustin campus libraries

  • 25-29 August 2025: Bike excursion "Tour de CSR" - an activity led by the Center for Ethics and Responsibility and the Business Faculty
