Technology Checklist for Hybrid Teaching
To successfully execute a hybrid scenario, it always requires technical preparations tailored to the needs of the teaching setting. Dealing with technology can pose new challenges for instructors. Refer to the following checklist to determine the devices you need for a basic scenario.
Setup for Basic Scenario:
- Your laptop
- Internet access (preferably via LAN cable)
- Lecture hall speakers or your own small speaker*
- Projector (possibly an adapter for HDMI connection)
- Lavalier microphone* (for the lecturer)
Additional Technology* (beneficial for interaction between in-person and online participants):
- Wireless microphone (for participant contributions)
- Additional camera, e.g., to capture the whiteboard or in-person attendees in the lecture hall
- Meeting Owl (360° conference camera with built-in microphones and speakers)
- Catchbox (throwable microphone)
*Available for loan from the videoLAB
