Centre for Science and Technology Transfer (ZWT)

Support for start-ups from the university

The ZWT supports scientists, students and graduates of the university in their step into self-employment and in applying for suitable funding.

EXIST Start-Up Grant
The funding program of the BMWi supports scientists, students and graduates from universities who want to realize their start-up idea and implement it in a business plan. The start-up projects should be innovative technology-oriented or knowledge-based projects with significant unique selling points and good economic prospects. A mentor from the university provides professional support for the start-up project. The funding period is one year; applications can be submitted at any time.

EXIST Research Transfer

EXIST Research Transfer is a nationwide funding program with the aim of increasing the number of particularly ambitious technology-oriented start-ups from universities and non-university research institutions. EXIST Research Transfer complements the broad-based EXIST Start-up Grant with a special excellence-oriented measure for high-tech start-ups.

Start-up Transfer.NRW

The START-UP transfer.NRW program is designed to support university graduates, who have usually graduated no longer than three years ago, as well as scientists from the university, in taking their first step into entrepreneurial self-employment.

Funding of up to €240,000 can be applied for projects with a funding period of up to 18 months.
