Admission requirements for the Master's degree programme in Computer Science

A prerequisite for admission to the Master's degree programme in Computer Science is a relevant first professionally qualifying university degree with a minimum grade of 3.0.

German language skills:

If you do not have a German-language school or university degree, the German language skills required for the degree programme must be demonstrated by the telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule or the DSH 2 (German language examination for university admission for foreign applicants) or by the TestDaF (Test for German as a foreign language) at level TDN 4 in all four examination areas.

Please refer to the deadline schedule for the application deadlines.

An application is only possible if you have completed your first professionally qualifying university degree by 31 March for an application for the summer semester and by 30 September for an application for the winter semester.

Notes on the application

Before you start your online application, please check that you have all the documents you need for your application and that you need to upload them with your online application:

  • University degree certificate including transcript of grades (with German or English translation for foreign certificates);
  • Transcript of records without university degree certificate, if the university degree is not yet available but will be obtained this semester;
  • the APS certificate if you obtained your university degree in China, Vietnam or India;
  • Proof of sufficient German language skills (telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule or TestDaF with a result of 4.4.4.4 or DSH 2) if you obtained your university degree abroad (applies to all German-language and bilingual degree programmes).

Please note the application and enrolment deadlines. Applications received after the deadline or incomplete applications can no longer be considered!
