About ZIEL as an institute for teaching development and innovation

Learning and study success not only depend on the active process of the students but also on guidance and support of teachers.

The Centre for Teaching Development and Innovation (ZIEL) promotes further development of higher education didactics, taking into account important current developments such as digitalization, diversity and internalization. 

The aim of ZIEL is to actively network the parties involved at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University and to make examples of attractive teaching visible in order to support students in achieving their teaching and learning goals. 

The focus of activities of ZIEL includes:

  1. The promotion of university teaching with the contents of university didactics and digital teaching 
  2. The quality pact for teaching and its continuation – implemented in our university Pro-MINT-us project
  3. Workspaces in which working groups meet and work on specific didactic topics related to higher education 

The directorate

The directorate of the Centre for Teaching Development and Innovation (ZIEL) is responsible for promoting good teaching and support the teaching staff at the H-BRS. The directorate is made up of the Vice President for Teaching, Learning and Further Education, the Director of the Centre for Teaching Development and Innovation and the President´s Commissioner for didactical training.
