Working groups

The aim of the working group at the Medical Tourism research department is to strengthen and further expand internationalisation at the department. The members of the networking group meet at regular intervals to discuss and exchange views on various topics relating to health tourism/medical tourism/treatment of international patients. Possible solutions for practice are developed and analysed in a sustainable manner and research results are presented.

Founding history:

In 2008, Jens Juszczak founded and headed the ‘International Patients Working Group’ at the university, which is made up of around 40 clinics that treat around 90 per cent of all patients abroad in Germany. The members of the working group develop sample calculations and key figures, templates for legal regulations and standardised processes (e.g. issuing medical visas via embassies and consulates abroad). External experts are regularly invited to speak on specific topics in their specialised fields.
