The Department of Management Sciences is characterised by a practical education. Economics and commerce require constant adjustment and flexibility which involves the necessity to address current problems in business practice also by the field of studies and teaching. In order to achieve this, a good communication and close cooperation between university and enterprises is vital.

We appreciate your interest and offer you the following ways of cooperation:

• Reseach and advice

  Our professors offer you a comprehensive range of research and advice. You will find detailed information on the different subject areas on the website of the Department.

• Training
  
  Interested persons who would like to attend individual courses of the Department of Management Sciences may be admitted as an observer (as a guest student) within the scope of the existing study opportunities. The admission as an observer is subject to a fee. Further information about the admission as an observer can be found on the website of the registrar’s office of Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg.

• Practice projects/research projects
  
  Practice projects take up complex, real problems in business practice which are independently analysed and handled by project groups under the guidance of a lecturer. If possible the solution is being presented and discussed in the company. Usually the project group consists of twenty students at the most. If you are interested in carrying out a practice project with us, please get in touch with us.
  
  You are welcome to send us proposals for practical and research projects. Information about the researchers in the department can be found in the H-BRS research database.

• Internship
  
  A compulsory internship of at least 20 and a maximum of 27 weeks is integrated into the Bachelor's degree programmes of the Department of Management Sciences The internship is to be carried out at a company or another institution, as a rule in the sixth semester, with the usual weekly working hours of a full-time employee in the company. The internship/placement is intended to strengthen the connection between studies and professional practice. The students should familiarise themselves with professional reality, apply knowledge and skills acquired during their studies through concrete tasks, and describe and evaluate the experience gained during practical work. In addition to business management issues, the requirements of the working world with its social and ecological issues should become clear to them. As far as possible, they should participate in solving business management problems under supervision. Would you like to offer our students an internship/a placement? • Final theses
  
  Are you looking for students of a bachelor’s/master’s degrees for the solution of business problems? You are welcome to send us proposals for topics of final theses: stellenboerse-wir@h-brs.de.

  You would like to conclude a research contract with us or carry out a practice project with our students? You are welcome to send us proposals for practice and research projects.   Are you interested in holding guest lectures at the courses or at out conferences? You are welcome to send us your proposals for presentation events.

  Since autumn 2002 the Department of Management Sciences has its own series (ISSN 1610-4617) with publications of research results, conference reports, project reports, full-text lecture scripts, outstanding final theses and other research-oriented or teaching-based documents.
