Uzbekistan International Workshop - MEDICAL AND HEALTH TOURISM

Uzbekistan's economy and healthcare sector are currently developing rapidly. This is particularly noticeable in the areas of construction, industry and medicine. A number of private clinics have been built in large cities in Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Health is investing heavily in the healthcare sector. Demand for patient treatment in Germany rose by 20 % in 2021 compared to the previous year. An interesting market for medical tourism in Germany.

Goals

By participating in the workshop in Tashkent 2023, German representatives were able to strengthen Germany as a medical location, present their services and make new contacts. Around 150 trade visitors, representatives of decision-makers from the government (ministries), (private) clinics, doctors, sanatoriums, rehabilitation facilities, etc. took part.

Organizer & Organization

The workshop, from 3 to 4 October 2023 in the capital of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, was organized by the Association of Medical Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and for the first time with German country representation in cooperation with the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, Medical Tourism Research Unit.

Medical institutions or stakeholders from the health sector in medical tourism from Germany participated in this event in Uzbekistan together with the Medical Tourism Research Unit.
