University competition launched in the Science Year 2025 - Future Energy
Application deadline: November 25, 2024
What will a sustainable energy supply of the future look like? In the Science Year 2025 - Future Energy, the university competition invites students, doctoral candidates and young researchers to submit their communication ideas on promising forms of energy. We are looking for interactive contributions from all disciplines that make scientific content accessible and promote exchange between research and society. Ten winning teams will each receive 10,000 euros to implement their ideas.

Topic: Forest education and learning gardens as innovations for ESD! What remains?
Speakers: Prof. Dr. Sara Remke und Prof. Dr. Jörg Rövenkamp-Wattendorf
Using the forest and the learning garden³ as pedagogical places, the speakers will explore the importance of an active relationship between humans and nature and the environment for ESD. Analogies between the two places of learning will be presented and their respective limitations discussed. Nature-related concepts, such as forest education, focus on a genuine encounter with nature in accordance with Pestalozzi's principle of ‘head, heart and hand’ with a holistic educational approach that can contribute to the climate-resilient development of people's personalities.
