Students report on their experiences with the intercultural exchange organisation AIESEC

Monday 25 November 2024

Increasingly rapid global, social and technological changes require new competences in business, education and science. Our task, at the university, is to provide students with the relevant key competences for the future by creating learning opportunities and giving them the chance to use these skills in a meaningful way.

With this in mind, Eileen Küpper, senior lecturer for English, ICC and Diversity Management in the Language Centre, invited members of AIESEC to visit the intercultural communication courses that she organises for the 2nd Semester Business Psychology students in Rheinbach and the 1st Semester International Business students in St. Augustin, in order to present AIESEC and the opportunities it offers.

Ms Küpper said “I wanted to encourage students to get involved in intercultural projects outside of the university in order to improve both their organizational and intercultural skills and to make them fit for a future workplace”.

The AIESEC members introduced the organisation, talked about their own experiences and reported on the various opportunities for students to get involved. The 4 AIESEC Members are themselves students at H-BRS: Behe Reguigui (Business Informatics), Giang Huong Vu (Business Psychology), Chiara Angeline Tique (International Business) and Carol Merlin Frank ( Applied Biology). The are happy to report that already 4 students have taken them up on their offer of a “life-changing” experience.

AIESEC is the world's largest youth-led organisation whose aim is to provide young people with intercultural exchange experiences through internships or projects abroad.
