Program "Wege ins Studium" for refugees interested in studying at H-BRS
Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, University of Applied Sciences is actively supporting refugees who are interested in pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. In the International Office a central coordination point supports refugees who are interested in studying an H-BRS and organizes courses for the professional and linguistic preparation and integration into a degree programme.
The "NRWege ins Studium", financed by the North Rhine-Westphalia Ministry of Innovation, Science and Research, supports refugees who are interested in studying at the university.
This programme consists of:
- Counselling about study opportunities or alternatives
- German courses (starting at B2)
- Additional study-prep courses and career-related workshops
- Intercultural activities
The programme is organized in cooperation with the Language Center, the Central Study Guidance Office, the Registrar’s Office and stakeholders from the departments.
Participation in the courses is mostly free of charge for refugees.
Prerequisites are:
- You have already acquired German language skills at B1 level
- You live in the region
- You are interested in a degree offered by H-BRS
- You fulfill the requirements for admission (incl. the university entrance qualification)
- You are recognized as a refugee or have a residence permit as refugee
