H-BRS obtains quality seal for internationalisation
The audit was initiated by the HRK in 2009 in order to support German universities with the strategic alignment of their internationalisation objectives. The quality seal award is, on the one hand, aimed at honouring a university’s previous internationalisation activities; on the other hand, it includes concrete recommendations on how to advance the internationalisation strategy. Our university is thus one of the small circle of merely 54 German higher education institutions nationwide that have been subjected to an independent review of their international strategy. The audit is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
The experts confirmed that Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University already provides high performing services for internationalisation, such as the International Office and the Language Centre, as well as remarkable projects and study programmes offered by the departments. They said that H-BRS, despite its young history, was already involved with notable internationalisation activities, which, however, should cover a broader spectrum in the future. The recommendations will be discussed in detail in H-BRS related executive committees and in the Commission for International Affairs in the President’s Office. The aim is to integrate important recommendations into the next university development plan.
