Many green points for the university in the new CHE university ranking

Wednesday 8 May 2013

Chemistry and Biology, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering are the four degree programmes at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg that were scrutinised for the new university ranking by the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE). The ranking has just been published in the Zeit-Studienführer and sees the aforementioned degree programmes in Sankt Augustin and Rheinbach in the top group with numerous green points in each category.

Students consider their study situation to be in the middle of the field across all subjects. When it comes to graduates in the standard period of study, which can ultimately be seen as a positive statement about the studyability of the subject as well as the facilities and supervisors, the ranking sees Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg - with the exception of Chemistry - once again in the top group. The natural sciences degree programmes at the Rheinbach campus in Chemistry and Biology also scored top marks in the category of research funding with green.

Prospective students looking for a university on the basis of the ranking can choose from a catalogue with the headings overall assessment, studies and teaching, facilities, international orientation, research, labour market and career relevance, place of study and university from a maximum of six points and thus set their own priorities for their choice of university. According to the CHE, up to 37 different assessment criteria per subject are included in the study.

The study guide also contains the rankings already published in 2011 for other degree programmes at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg: Media/Technical Journalism, Computer Science and Business Informatics as well as Business Administration
