IBM CAS scholarship awarded
Marcel Dombrowski was awarded an IBM Center of Advanced Studies (CAS) PhD scholarship at our Canadian partner the University of New Brunswick (UNB) to work on improvements of the IBM JVM. Specifically, Marcel will be working in the area of improving the memory management system of Java for faster execution. Marcel's scholarship is not only financially lucrative, but also provides an opportunity for him to intern at IBM's Java Virtual Machine Lab in Ottawa, Canada.
Marcel Dombrowski recieved his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (BRSU). At the moment he is finishing his Dual Degree Master Autonomous Systems (MAS) in cooperation with UNB. His advisors are Prof. Dr. Ken Kent from UNB and Prof. Dr. Rainer Herpers from BRSU.
