Cooperation Agreement with Chinese University Signed
An agreement on a joint study programme with Hunan University in the capital of Changsha province has recently been signed in China by representatives of the two partner universities. The agreement is expandable.
The delegation from the Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, which included President Hartmut Ihne (shown in the photo with his Chinese counterpart Zhang Jing), Vice President Wiltrud Terlau as well as representatives of the Rheinbach Department of Business Administration, Dean Marc Ant, Prof. Jürgen Bode as initiator of the cooperation as well as Karsten Heinrich, was very pleased and impressed when returning to Germany.
The importance that the Chinese University attaches to the agreement is not least proved by the fact that even the University's Party Secretary - he is one of the Heads of the University - found the time for a joint talk, which can by no means be taken for granted. In addition, the Chinese side brought up a new topic: a joint research centre, in which the Germans took a great interest. There are several starting points for cooperation, such as the University's Automobile Research Centre, which focusses on car body research.
The delegation also met the 15 Chinese students who are coming to Rheinbach in approximately one and a half years to continue their studies of Business Administration for another two years - heading for a double degree within the framework of the "2+2 Programme". According to Jürgen Bode, the students were curious, easy-going and very much looking forward to their studies in Rheinbach. It was amazing that they were able to actively participate in conversations after as few as approximately nine months of tuition in German. The German students, who are currently studying at Changsha, enthusiastically reported on China - their new home country for a limited time.
Another highlight of the journey was the visit to Bosch. The company has drawn up a programme for the Chinese students who are going to Germany, which fits in with the "2+2 programme": an Open Day, internships, scholarships for the best students for their study period at Rheinbach as well as proportional tuition fee funding for those employed by Bosch. In this way, the management hopes to bind highly qualified young people to the company at a young age - simply because good employees are rare.
