During the visit of Gerda Meuer, Director of the German broadcasting academy “Deutsche-Welle-Akademie”, the two partners discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation on the basis of the joint Master’s degree course in International Media Studies. “The Master’s degree course in International Business Studies is going well; moreover, is has a lot of potential for further development.” During her visit to our University, Gerda Meuer, Director of the German broadcasting academy “Deutsche-Welle-Akademie”, won the agreement of President Prof. Dr Hartmut Ihne and Departmental Dean Prof. Dr Michael Krzeminski. Together with Prof. Dr Wiltrud Terlau, Vice-President for Internationalisation and International Cooperation, and Prof. Dr Wolfgang Heiden, Dean of the Department of Computer Science, they also discussed how to expand cooperation on this solid basis. Our University’s internationalisation strategy was as much at the heart of this talk as the possibility of including additional partners.

For the time being, it was agreed that another meeting would be held - with the aim of developing the structure for a project request. The establishment of a joint media research centre was also under discussion. There was still enough time for practice, too: in the Department of Computer Science, Gerda Meuer pedalled on a Fivis bicycle in a virtual setting. During her visit to the studios in the Department of Technical Journalism, she brought forward the idea of a temporary exchange of students - with a view to the opportunity for mutual enrichment.
