Application for the Information Literacy Award

The Information Literacy Award honours outstanding research work that deals with the social impact of deliberately disseminated misinformation and identifies possible solutions.

Theses from all disciplines related to the field of disinformation are eligible to participate. In the first year of the competition, theses that have been graded at least ‘good’ between 1 January 2023 and 27 February 2025 can be submitted.

Bachelor's and Master's theses as well as dissertations can be submitted. Regardless of the type of thesis, only one prize will be awarded.

Applications can be submitted by H-BRS graduates themselves or by the supervising assessors.

The following documents must be submitted:
  • Abstract of the thesis (maximum one page)
  • Short statement by the first supervisor (maximum half a page)
  • transcript of records
  • curriculum vitae
  • Copy of the thesis (digital PDF)

In the case of joint theses, all authors must fulfil the requirements.

The application deadline is 28 February of each year (12 noon).

We welcome applications from all H-BRS students, regardless of their degree programme.

The announcement and award ceremony will take place on 2 April, International Fact Check Day.
