After a power failure paralysed the Sankt Augustin Campus on Tuesday, 10 September, all systems are now back in operation. An excavator had damaged the power supply during construction work. As a result, all university services, such as e-mail, DIAS and LEA, had to be switched off. All members of the university had to leave the campus.

Since Wednesday morning, all of the university's important systems have been restored, according to the Institute for IT Services (ITS). Together with the staff of the administrative unit for Facility Management, Construction and Security, ITS restored the power supply on Tuesday afternoon and began to put the systems back into operation.

The dining hall and Café koffe-In are also open again from today, Wednesday.
According to the Chancellor's office, all employees will receive a time credit equal to their planned working hours for Tuesday.

The power outage came at an inconvenient time for almost 100 students from the Department of Engineering and Communication (IWK): four of the exams scheduled for Tuesday had to be cancelled. Alternative dates are being organised for all exams. Those affected will be informed personally by the department about the further procedure.
